Hawaiian Luau

Location

Choosing the location for the party is one of the first steps in planning a Hawaiian Luau. A Hawaiian Luau party can be held at the beach, at a pool and if you're creative, can be held in a backyard without a pool.

Invitations

  • Message in a Bottle
  • - Print the invitation on a small piece of paper. Roll the paper up and slip it into a small bottle. Fill the bottle with beach and Hawaiian items. Include a small umbrella toothpick, sand, small seashells, etc.

  • Bermuda Shorts
  • - Print the invitation on a piece of card stock paper and cut into the shape of Bernuda shorts. Cut the shape with scissors or use a die-cut machine. Use a tropical stamp set to stamp images of tropical flowers onto the invitation.
Must Haves

  • Tiki Torches
  • Leis
  • Limbo
  • Tropical Drinks
  • Seashells
  • Umbrella Straws

Games

  • Hula Hoop Contest
  • - A Hawaiian Luau would not be complete without a hula hoop contest. Award a prize to the guest who can hula hoop the longest.

  • Beach Pail Ping Pong
  • - The guest who bounces the most ping pong balls into the beach pails wins. Line up several different size beach pails. Put a layer of sand in the bottom of each pail to prevent the ping pong ball from bouncing out of the pail. Each guest must stand back from the beach pails and bounce the ping pong ball at least once and try to get the ping pong balls into the pails.
