Crab Feast
Details
|
| |
A crab feast is a great way to get friends together for a casual get together. Crab picking is all about relaxing. It's a great way to kick back,
relax, drink beer and enjoy the company of great friends. It can get pretty messy, so save the manicures for another day.
Spread layers of overlapping newspapers or brown paper on the crab picking tables. This will make clean up quick and convenient. Just roll the papers
from the corners to the center to make a neat package.
Wooden mallets and small paring knives make great crab picking tools. The mallets are used for cracking open the claws and small paring knives are great
for cutting the crab body in half to expose the meat, and for picking the meat out with the tip of the knife. Click here for detailed instructions for
crab feast crab picking.
There are many crab types to choose from: Blue Crab, Alaskan King Crab, Jonah Crab, Snow Crab and Dungeness Crab.

Be sure to have a variety of side dishes available. Side dish ideas include cole slaw, potato salad, french fries, potato chips, corn on the cob and plenty of
ice cold pitchers of beer!
It's also a great idea to serve other summertime grilled foods for those guests that don't like crabs. Hot dogs and hamburgers are great choices.
